Santee Community School is classified as being a school in need of improvement. A district with this classification has the responsibility to notify parents and patrons about a component called school choice. School choice refers to other public schools in the district.
Parents/guardians would have the option of transferring their student to that other public school. Santee Community School had 149 students during the 2010-11 school year and 152 students during the 2009-10 school year that were eligible for school choice. However, since there is no other public school in Santee, this option is not available and 0 students participated in the school choice option.
